How to Make Your Own Homemade Disinfectant Spray
There are a few simple ingredients you’ll need:
- Distilled water
- Distilled white vinegar
- Rubbing Alcohol 70% or higher
- Essential Oils (like Lemon, Lemongrass, Lavender, TeaTree oil)
Other supplies you’ll need:
- Measuring cups for liquid
- Spray bottle
- large jar with lid
In large jar, pour 1 1/4 cups distilled water, 1/4 cup distilled vinegar, 1/4 cup alcohol. Put lid on jar and shake up. Then add 15 drops of essential oil and shake again. We used Lemongrass essential oil for it’s natural anti-bacterial properties. Lavender and TeaTree essential oils are also great options. You could do a combination, it’s really up to you. This recipe makes enough for 1-16 0z. spray bottle or 2-8 oz. spray bottles.
To clean with your homemade disinfectant spray, simply spray surface, and wipe down with a cloth. Make sure to clean all commonly touched surfaces like door knobs, light switches, refrigerator handles and doors, cabinet doors, etc. And don’t forget your car.
